Our Club

The Small Ruminant and Camelid Club at the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine is an organization developed for veterinary students interested in sheep, goat, and camelid medicine. The club offers various experiences throughout the year that are both fun and educational that allow students to gain field experience as well as meet the community of small ruminant farm owners in the area. We believe in the importance of offering interactive opportunities to students along with expanding our involvement within the community.

Our Past Events

Some of the past opportunities the club has offered include participating in annual sheep and goat vaccinations, assisting in alpaca and llama shearing, and learning the practice of parasite management. We also host yearly Goat Yoga to provide a wellness activity to students. Each year, we partner with the UGA CVM Parasitology Club to host a FAMACHA Certification lab where veterinary students learn about the importance of FAMACHA scoring animals and can become certified.
